The Brief

Create a visual identity for Nike’s company-wide holiday charity campaign, inspired by the words of running Legend Steve Prefontaine.

The Challenge

Standing out from the cavalcade of messaging on Nike’s internal comms channels meant developing a look outside of the Nike norm. Futura Extra Bold Condensed over a sports image wasn’t going to cut it.

To celebrate Banfield’s involvement in the IMAX film Superpower Dogs, I concepted and designed a campaign the showcased Banfield’s superpowered love of pets, featuring comics-inspired illustrations from illustrator Michael DiMotta.

The campaign culminated in a Banfield-hosted Portland premiere of Superpower Dogs. I collaborated on developing the event’s run-of-show and designed, built, and installed all the graphics.

In the Summer of 2017, Nike launched a new initiative developed to make easily automatable first-class creative for all their products.

The challenge was making sure the design layouts met a very particular set of rules that were easy to replicate across Nike's entire lineup of footwear, while still holding true to the classic Nike aesthetic that inspired the campaign. 

I worked directly with Nike's Global Brand and Digital Design Director to build a system of rules and a communication directive to explain them to designers around the world.
